I've been putting off posting for a while now, not wanting to think up answers for the 12 Items memey thing that hydeon has me tagged for. I've decided, however, to just put that on the backburner for now.

Since my last post, there hasn't really been a lot to write about. I still don't have something red to wear for Friday's An Evening Of Red, nor do I have photos from the last Blink trip. I have helped a teacher from high school find a singing group to join, and I have been reading more again. Fragile Things, by Neil Gaiman, was not my favourite book at first but I have gotten through to some of the better short stories and poems; so much better, in fact, that I've renamed my journal with quotes from one of them - Closing Time.

Oh, and I made a birthday card and pancakes for my mother's birthday on Tuesday. Go me.

Also, I found out that the boss's wife is returning for a while and that she plans on working with us again during her stay. This wouldn't be so bad if she didn't call every shift and ask how we're going, call again to see where her husband is, and then claim that she needs to ring us from overseas to tell said husband how much it will cost to fix the work freezer. To add to this list, there's also all of her inane strategies to save money, her advertising tips, inability to spell the names of our products, and her insistance that someone will steal the bread we give to charity, resell it, and bring down our reputation (which I hope the boss hasn't listened to). This makes her somewhat annoying, and will undoubtedly affect my ability to work with her amicably. I just hope I don't have to work with her this time, especially not with the new trainee. She's the worst yet; rude, slow, doesn't listen to customers or staff, and has a terrible BO problem.

Man, I need a new job.

Although, I am to put in a good word for a family aquaintance who's applied. Good things going for him:
a) male, so I wouldn't be the only one anymore
b) around my age (possibly a year younger), so both cheap labour and good potential for conversation material
c) English is his first language, so easier on us (to train), and easier on customers (to be served) - the only reason ESL is ever a problem
d) he seems to be a bright and cheery kind of guy, easy to talk to and what not
e) he's local, living only a couple of streets away from me, and I'm pretty close
f) and possibly the best part, he's quite cute. I'm struggling to get a face in my head, but I do remember I was quite happy to keep glancing over at him the first day his family appeared at Michele's a month or so ago, and that I kept doing so when they strolled past after visiting Coles, and while talking to his mother during a brief pause in said stroll, during which he showed me his knife... which makes less sense to you than it does to me. Just trust me when I say it was a good moment.
Anyway, I have the. worst. gaydar. ever, in the existence of man, so there's no point consulting it, but either way, eyecandy at work is always nice. He would have to shave the cute manly stubble away though, the one thing I remember clearly about him, and one of the defining features of cuteness (I love me some stubble, ok?), but I could handle that. Besides, b)-e) all point towards Potential For Friends List, so it kind of balances out, especially if he is straight, so I shouldn't be greedy and ask for more, i.e. the cute stubble.

Penultimate-ly, my bottom right back bracket (the one that goes around the tooth) has somehow gotten loose and needs to be refixed, while I need a bracket placed on the tooth behind it, the one they exposed during surgery, to bring it up in line with the rest of my teeth. The bit about the loose bracket has meant that I haven't been wearing my elastics for a while now, seeing as all sorts of bad things happen when they pull on that bracket, so my jaw has been quite sore lately. And it'll only get worse when I start wearing them again.

And finally, I thought I should add a snippet of a conversation had Tuesday night.

Me: No, I'm ok.
Mum: *lols* I thought you said “No, I’m gay”
Me, jokingly: Well… *smile*
Me, dead serious, looking straight into mother's eyes: No, seriously.
Everyone: *ignores*

:(

I WILL READ THIS ASAP.

What Surgery!?

And I am almost at Ep 12!!!!

I had four wisdom teeth removed, and a fifth tooth exposed. It was caught beneath one of the now-removed molars, so it hadn't surfaced yet. Now that it has, I need it bracketed so it can be brought up to where it should be.

Ooooh! You're doing' great. Don't stop now - just three more and you'll be caught up!!

Ooh, I see. So it's the Dental stuff

Hahaha YAYY!!!! =DD I was talking about 12 specifically so I Can DISCUSS IT WITH YOU O_O!

OOOH!! That one!! I remember now - I wanted to tell you that I'd seen that coming. Or at least a version of it.

The Peter = Explody Man thing, that is.

When I first saw the painting in Ep#1, I thought to myself "Hmmm, that explosion looks oddly Man-shaped. I wonder if that's really what they're saving NY from - a bad mutant going all HumanTorch-esque, only giantly."!!

And I hadn't been able to tell that to anyone! It was driving me mad that half of something I'd predicted by means of my overly analytical mind had actually happened. It had finally kind of paid off!

It was just a really happy moment for me.

:)

I didnt even realize that, but that might be because I am watching all of these on my Brilliant Zen player with the Three Inch Screen. XD

OMIGOSH BUT PETER...:( I LOVE HIM! HE CANT BE PWND'd'd'd'd'd =(

Hahaha Over Analyzing...Oh Sagittarius <3

^^ Happiness is good (or playing Bingo, has the flicker box keeps telling me)

I have an issue with some of the Powers, though. Like Technopath?! REALLY!? How logical is it to control Technology with your mind...as a genetic mutation? =\\

Hmm, who knows.

Do you think I have a superpower? =//

If you had one, what would it be?!

From: [identity profile] phrasemuffin.livejournal.com

LoL - I was going to go for the coresponding iPod, but I couldn't think of enough reasons why I'd want/need the video bit. Now I realise I could have had the ability to watch Heroes where ever, when ever. :P

I'm kinda confused as to where Peter's non-painty psychic abilities are coming from. Are they part of the Empathy, or are the an extension of Mr Isaac's Microsoft Prophecy, or are they someone else's gift? The dying patient's, his daughter's, Peter's mother, Peter's girlfriend...

I know what you mean about the Technopathy. But that's like a lot of powers in shows and books - they aren't nature based, but man-made-things based. Even some of the nature based things don't make sense, like Storm's ability to control weather; how does she speed up the water cycle so much to make Instant Clouds, then charge them up to Super High Voltageness, and then make her lightning strike in the right place? At least Magneto's control over metals makes sense - he produces and controls magnetic fields which act upon the metals. But what does Storm produce? Wind Fields?

Also, with Sylar's ability to see how things work, I don't get how that lets him steal abilities from brains. I hope that gets explained properly.

And my other power problem (and my original) is Hiro's Time/Space Bending. How did he know he'd be able to teleport? I can understand the link between "Hey, I just turned time back by a second" to "I'm going to freeze time". I don't get how knowing he can bend time means he wil be able to bend space. They are two very different things. And bending space doesn't even necessarily mean teleportation. And Vulcans like Spock from Star Treck can do neither of these things, I might add. Not even Vulcans unlike Spock.

You definitely have a superpower. You just haven't told me what it is yet.

If I have a superpower, it would be connected to fire in some way. I'm very much a Fire/Light Type, so something about producing and manipulating Fire and/or Light. Kind of like a mix between The Human Torch and Pyro XD

I Dont like iPods. Zen player = Bigger, BUT Video Quality Pwns.

His Crazy Dreams? He had that right before Simone came over as well the night her dad died, I think it just might be her. =\\ Or Maybe Me. Dunno.

HAHAHAHA. Storm is just genius ;) She did the Rain Dance Lots in her Youth.

OOh, I think I can explain that. My friend was being a Spoiler-y brat, and he said...

MAYBE A SPOILER::
Apparently, they wanted Sylar to EAT the Brains to make his abilities appear. But, they might have changed that, seeing as it is Prime Time Television. XD
NO LONGER A SPOILER!

The Time Space Bending Also is wierd because Time Travel and Rifts are REALLY interesting to me. What if you make one mistake and change EVERYTHING?@!?!??!?! Like going back Six Months?! We're lucky Charlie didnt TURN OUT TO BE A KILLER HERSELF. -_____-;; Or like...Magically Die Before that of her Illness, Or something. Like...Time Bending is already pretty convoluted, dont even get me started on the space.

I am actually a waterbender. ^^ I control Water and ICE and Gaseous H2O. Pretty Cool, eh?

HAhaha, Just please dont be Radioactive and give me Cancer in Canada. XD

a)Gaiman rocks my proverbial socks :D:D although why is fragile things sitting on my self unread??????

b) mmmm... stubble...

c) re: the mother thing... :( *hugs you*

From: [identity profile] phrasemuffin.livejournal.com

a) This I knew, and is why I added it to the post :P As to why it's still unread by you, I cannot explain. Maybe you're caught up in the glory of other Gaiman novels? I myself just bought "Good Omens" today, mainly because they were out of Sandman #2s, but also mainly because I am a complete Gaiman addict.

b) you said it, sister.

c) thanks. It's times like these that I really regret having had a girfriend, and not for how it turned out. My family just keeps assuming that I'm straight now, whereas before I think it would have been easier to tell them. Or for them to notice on their own. I've dropped so many hints to my mother, it just isn't funny. humph.

From: [identity profile] highlyeccentric.livejournal.com

c) methinks your family are in Denial, and would be even if you were bringing spunky 'friends' home on a regular basis.
